Poor quality dentures

BUYER BEWARE! Monarch dental in Lewisville, TX is the worst business I have ever encountered. My provider was United Healthcare and my only option for dental work was Monarch. Goes without saying that United Healthcare is almost as bad as Monarch Dental. I visited Monarch in October of 2014 to have my upper dentures repaired. They would not repair and wanted to replace. It is now March 2016 and I still do not have proper dentures. They have collected over $3,000.00 to date and I have refused to pay the remaining $286.00 until I have proper dentures. They turned me over to a collection agency. Absolutely horrid company!

Go elsewhere!

Extremely deceptive billing. They will claim that they have the work preapproved by insurance and they don't. They will overcharge you for work you can have done cheaper elsewhere. The wait times are insanity. BBB rates them a F at the office I visited I am betting this rings true to all of their locations. The dentist I saw was a good guy, but I will not be going back due to the office manager never getting back to me when I called about billing issues. Stay far away!

I am having same problem. I had to send claim to insurance because they kept saying they did but insurance company said they never got it.

it should have taken no more than a week if mailed in and a few if faxed.

they are in same city as insurance company. I'm getting skeptical of them now.

I had an appointment at 10:30 to have my teeth cleaned I was advised to arrive 30 prior to complete paperwork which I did. I was told to sign in and have a seat.

At10:30 I was ask to complete paperwork. I spent from 11:00 to 11:45 having X-rays taken. More X-rays than I have ever had taken at any dentist office. I ask when I was going to have my teeth cleaned, I was told I would see the dentist first.

Which I did see, I ask her when would I have my cleaning she said I would see the hygienist next. The hygienist looked at my teeth and said I would need to get my records from my last cleaning before they cleaned my tooth so that the could decide what kind of cleaning I needed!

This visit was a total waste of 2 1/2 hours, and I never got my teeth cleaned! My first and last visit!

Avoid Monarch Las Colinas

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had my two visits with Monarch in Las Colinas in the same day...my first and last. I was long over due for a cleaning and it was a mistake for disclosing that information to them.

The receptionist was very nice, polite and handled her duties well. But immediately after being seated for xray's I knew that I was in the hands of a novice. I know everyone has to start somewhere. He was polite, but very new.

He botched a few shots that had to be retaken and after being seated in the exam chair (for 15 minutes) I was notified that the Pano shot "was all white" and needed to be taken again. I'm not a fan of radiation. After being seated for too long, listening to a radio whose volume and music selection didn't belong in a dentist office, I finally saw the Dr. She appeared to be adequately skilled and completed the exam efficiently.

After another long wait, I was presented with my treatment plan...a long list with the number $1920 at the bottom. I wanted to walk out. I said I wanted what my insurance covered and no more. She said the Dr cannot "ethically" do less than what is recommended.

My portion was going to be $520, I said everything is negotiable and I'm not paying that price. I was furious. She mentioned a $100 coupon and contemplated whether I was overreacting or overly distrustful. I agreed to the "deep" cleaning.

I'm here to tell you, the only thing different about that cleaning compared to any other was the addition of the pricey numbing gel (that I've never needed before) and the 3X $100 a dose antibiotic that the Dr. recommended.

Then they sent me home with a $80 bottle of mouthwash. I felt like I'd been fleeced.

Nitrous Not Working

I went in to Monarch Dental to have a tooth extraction today. I always have Nitrous for any work, I've had a dental injury before, my Lingual Nerve was injured. I also have a very prominent vasovagal syncope response so I always pay the extra to have it administered. I've never had a problem with Nitrous, not ever. I told this dentist and his assistant from the beginning that the gas was NOT working. They assured me it was, in fact, working and there is no reason other than my individual chemistry, that would cause it not to work. Their exact words..they said it was maxed out. I insisted they check again. They again insisted it was working and the dentist came in and pulled my molar with a very long root without the gas working correctly...and of course I had the vasovagal syncope response. I broke out in a sweat, I felt nauseous, I felt like I was going to faint and then I threw up. I then sat there in shock at what had just happened. Such cruelty. If an attorney reads this..look me up. I could imagine they could make a lot of money telling people the gas is working and then not even giving it to the patients. ($59 a pop) I'm positive this is what happened today. I won't be going back there. Pretty sure I need a lawyer.

Huge Ripoff

I was using this dentist for about a year when I had a tooth go bad. I went to the dentist and he told me that I needed a pulpectomy to relieve some of the pain. Once finished he gave me a pain pill script and told me to come back on Friday. Friday a different dentist pulled the tooth with one yank. Come to find out he was an oral surgeon and now my insurance refuses to cover the cost of the extraction and the previous visit. I need to replace the tooth with something so they made an appointment with a 3rd dentist and he just looked in my mouth and said I needed an implant or a partial. The estimate for the implant was over $2,000 and that didn't include the crown that would also be needed. My second choice was a partial at $1,500. I only need one tooth! The local office is poor in filing paperwork with the insurance. My regular dentist I found out too late doesn't pull any teeth they refer them all to the oral surgeon on staff. This is a huge money gouge and I would not recommend anyone ever using this company.

Monarch Dental Teeth Cleaning Review

I went to the Monarch on Main in Lewisville, friendly staff but slow, so slow. I went to get my teeth cleaned, got 18 X-rays and that was it. They said my Himana insurance was weird and they couldn't figure it out. Lying seems to be plentiful at this place. I sat there for 2 hours and finally walked out. Onto another dentist to try and get my teeth cleaned. Don't go there you will regret it!

Just a big sales job

Went to the office on New Braunfels to get teeth cleaned. They said they have a special. X rays exam and cleaning for 29.00. I told them I did not want any radiation just a cleaning. They would not offer it without the whole treatment at any price. Scheduled appointment for next day. They took x rays and a dentist told me what all I needed done. then they tried to sell me the package and reschedule the cleaning. I saw red and left before they could try to sell me anything else. I am down 29.00 dollars. My teeth are not cleaned. And I have been exposed to dangerous x rays so they could try to sell me something.

FYI...you get more radiation by the sunlight throughout the day than by taking a complete set of x-rays. And no reputable dental office will do any type of treatment, including a cleaning, without taking x-rays. It would be considered malpractice.

DO NOT EVER GO HERE. This was the worst experience of my life. I went here to get my wisdom teeth removed, and before the surgery, I gave them my updated insurance card. They said they updated it in their system (which they didn't come to find out later) and that I owed $350 & my insurance would cover the rest. I paid it in cash and set the appointment. They sent me to one of their locations in Arlington tx, (DON'T GO THERE EITHER), and it was unforgettable. I remember the guy sticking me with the iv. He didn't know what he was doing because blood started shooting everywhere and all he could do was laugh. As soon as I woke up from the anesthesia, I was still out of it, they drug me off the table, refused to take me out the front to my mom, instead they grabbed my arm quickly walking me down the hall and actually ran me into a wall. Just having surgery on my mouth, it hurt pretty bad. Next thing I know the nurse took me out back propped me up against there dumpster and left me for my mom to come and pick up. When she got there, she was livid. It was an awful experience. Fast forward a couple years, and I start getting phone calls from a collection agency regarding payment to monarch for almost $1000! Turns out the receptionist couldn't do her job, never updated my insurance card and tried to bill my old insurance company for the amount of the surgery. Go figure when they denied it, seeing as how I was paying insurance with a different company. So instead of them fixing it and calling me to let me know, i find out 2 years later through a collection agency! The insurance company would not back date it, therefore not paying it, and because of their idiocy, I was forced to pay the FULL AMOUNT. I don't care if this is your last option. DO NOT EVER GO TO A MONARCH DENTAL. EVER.
